Ingrid Backstrom

Ingrid grew up in Washington, where she skied down the nearby mountains in the wintertime and hiked up them in the summer. After graduating from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, Ingrid moved to Squaw Valley, California where she soon realized that she would be skiing for the rest of her life. Winner of countless freestyle competitions, Ingrid is one of the most successful woman freestyle skiers in the world. She has placed in the top 3 in all but one of the freeskiing contests she has entered. Her success has landed her roles in many ski movies including Matchstick Productions' Yearbook (2004) and Warren Miller's Impact (2004). She was also the only woman included in Powder magazine's "11 Future Big Mountain Heroes" (2002).
