Kevin Na--playing in his first tournament on ALINE Performance Orthotics--has finished 2nd at the Arnold Palmer Classic at Bay Hill in Orlando. The result was Na's best finish since joining the PGA Tour in 2005.

Retief Goosen, who switched to ALINE in 2009, shortly before a victory and a run of Top 5 finishes, finished tied for fourth at Bayhill, just three shots behind winner and fellow South African Ernie Els.

D.J. Trahan tied for seventh. This was his third Top-ten finish of the year. Trahan began using ALINE insoles in 2007, shortly before his first PGA event win.

"Immediately I was blown away with the change ALINE produced and the way it molded my shoes to my feet," said Trahan, "There is no doubt in my mind that with my ALINE insoles I have improved my golf swing."

In a popular New York Times Magazine article this year, Adam Sternbergh makes the claim that "You Walk Wrong" It's a fascinating article that we highly recommend. Sternbergh explains and sheds some light on the biomechanical issues that ALINE holds dear.

But there is a problem... Mr. Sternbergh, like many well-intentioned barefoot advocates, fails to notice the 500 lb. Sasquatch in the room: its name is PAVEMENT.

Feet have been evolving for 4-5 million years and are wonders of biomechanical engineering.  They are well-suited for moving over the variable, natural terrain that humans encountered for 99.9999% of their evolution.

Start pounding those same feet on hard, flat asphalt (or marble, tile, concrete, wood, you name it), and they break down quickly. Most shoes only add to the problem, for the reasons discussed by Sternbergh. And just for kicks, throw in an adult foot that's been severely compromised by years of abuse and is now expected to go run barefoot... on pavement. Disaster.

ALINE athlete Matthias Giraud nailed the first-ever ski BASE descent of Ajax Peak in Telluride last week.  According to Matthias:

"This jump was pretty challenging since we could not get a precise height of the object, the runway was pretty technical to ski, we were at high altutide (11000 ft which could delay your opening a lot) and the cliff was not fully vertical. Therefore, we needed to carry as much speed as possible to get the parachute to open fast and get as far as possible from the wall. However, once the parachute opened, it was a cool flight over 1 minute!"

D.J. Trahan Wins Second PGA Event on ALINE.

Marblehead, MA – ALINE, the company committed to redefining athletic performance “from the ground up” congratulates D.J. Trahan for his dramatic win at the 2008 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.

Wearing ALINE suspension insoles, Trahan made eight final-round birdies to shoot 7-under-par 65 at the Classic Club, creating a seven-shot swing to defeat fourth-round leader Justin Leonard. His winning score of 334 (26 under par) earned him the $918,000 first prize.
